Spring has Sprung... Almost

The weather still isn't what I'd like it to be, but it's getting there. Last night it was 30 degrees!

I finally made it to the dentist, and everything was fine. Even my two baby teeth are hanging in there... literally! Now it's Gerald's turn to see what dental damage the Navy has done. He thinks they're going to take one look in his mouth and say, "Dear lord! Did you do these fillings yourself?!?"

I took over 100 pieces (toys & clothes) to the consignment shop this go round. So far, we've made about $95, I think. That was just on the toys from the first time. I hope my latest bins full sell just as well. We've also picked up a few goodies from other consignors... books, a few clothes, some toys... great place! I need to check out another one here that takes adult clothing. I saw a sign by there one day that said "Cash for Your Jeans"!!

We've been slowly working in the yard. It's a lot of work, and it's gonna take us until next year to get it the way we want it. We want to try to get some more grass to grow in the front. All the mulchy stuff has gotta go. We've bought some veggie seeds, but we don't have the veggie patch ready yet. So far, I've planted some Larkspur, Delphinium, Fern, and some other flowers I can't think of right now. Oh... and my Snapdragon hanging pot from Lowe's looks great!

Enid has her own set of gardening tools and some Uniqua gloves. Here she is watering some flowers from the previous owners, shoveling with her foot like Mommy, and wearing her gloves while making bubbles. Every day she helps me water everything (we need rain... just a little), and she always wants to wear her gloves!

Last weekend when we were cleaning up and getting ready to go inside, I called out for Enid and as I looked around for her, I saw this.

She said she needed to go sledding! HILARIOUS!

Grandma bought her some handpainted Easter eggs on her trip to Greensboro, and we picked out some additional ones at Michaels... so we made a tree for them. It's the Enid Tree Charlie Brown! She kept asking if we were making a Xmas tree. It couldn't look much better than this with her helping. She had glitter from the eggs all over the floor.

Last Sunday, we took Enid to the Sunrise Learning Lab Open House. It's a new in-home preschool for ages 3-6 and it's right through the trees from us... well, lots of trees, but it's not far! She'd go Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9-12. The owner, Colleen, has 15 years varied teaching experience and two little boys of her own. She said she'd make an exception for Enid starting just before her 3rd birthday since she seems ready. I just hope she's potty trained or way better at it by then! It's not going to be cheap, but it's comparable to other Montessori schools in the area. We're taking her back Tuesday morning to let her take part. Right now, Colleen is only working with her 3.5 year old, but she will take 3 more children in September.

Sunday I think we'll take Enid to meet the Easter Bunny at the mall. Next weekend is the LYF (Lake Youth Foundation) Easter Egg Hunt, and Granny and PaPa will be here. I'll try to post photos of everything.
