Lots of Photos (I am annoyed.)
Okay, for some reason, the new Fabrik beta thing with FilmLoop is not working for me today, and PhotoBucket slideshows NEVER work for me on Blogger, so there are A LOT of photos in this post!
First up are some various photos I've recently taken. Note Mr. Potato Head's headgear. (Yes, it's from Spud Trooper.)

3 lazy kids...

Enid made Luigi a "path".

One of Enid's favorite things to do outside now is "plant" sticks into pots.
Grandma, Grandpa, & Caitlyn were here last week. On the 4th, we headed over two doors down to the Babcock's house for a cookout. We supplied the dogs, some fresh lemonade, and Jeannie had TONS of food. Enid enjoyed it, and she likes their "kid's house", which is a climber with a slide and swings. For some reason, she doesn't call the playhouse that Ian built from scratch complete with electricity a "kid's house"!
Friday, we went to downtown Fredericksburg. I got two awesome fairies to add to my huge (and still boxed up) collection. Caitlyn & Enid love all the artsy fish.
That same day, we also took Enid to one of the lake beaches for the first time. She likes playing in water, but she's not a fan of large bodies with no bottom in sight. I don't blame her. Gerald took her out to dunk her legs, but she mostly played around the edge and in the sand.

We also grilled chicken and had Joe, Debbie, Teddy, & Brenda over that night. I thought this photo was hilarious... Grandpa is relaxing in our new outdoor furniture, and Enid is just a blur!
Now a little something the kiddies might like to see... Saturday, the Lake of the Woods Fire & Rescue had a parade, flag ceremony, festival w/pony & boat rides, ski club show, Rappahannock Pops Orchestra, and fireworks display. We took Enid to the parade, but it lasted sooo long that we skipped the festival for lunch and a nap! Later that night we walked with Aimee & Tom to hear the music and watch the fireworks. Enid really enjoyed them, but she's not fond of the booms... she covered her ears a lot.
A quick explanation... a neat car, the Cardboard Boat Regatta winners from last year, Enid watching the parade on Gerald's shoulders, a LOW firetruck, Lake Co-Op Preschool, Preschool float made by the Babcocks, the Ski Club's pirate ship, and some vets... WWII included.

Monday morning, we took Enid to the Clubhouse Beach to meet up with Jeannie, her mom, and the kids. It was Blake's first time in the water. Chloe & Sophie have been taking swimming lessons, and Lucy is fearless. I don't want Enid to be fearless, but I'd like for her to learn from them that it's okay to play in the water.

There was a wounded butterfly hanging around the whole time we were there. The girls kept chasing it away and it would come back.
Yard news... As I mentioned earlier, we finally bought a table set & a canopy hammock swing for the back porch at Wally World, and an Enid-sized chair on clearance at Target. I'm loving it! Our cucumbers have finally been edible, and everything else is on its way. The Lantana is taking root nicely by the front porch where the bushes went bye-bye (I despise bushes.), and the pumpkins are amazingly fast growers! A few more of the smaller trees are gone, and now that Grandpa brought his chainsaw, it won't be long before the yard is much clearer!
Preschool news... Colleen's husband's government job is taking him out of town and down to FL A LOT nowadays, so they are paying for her to move the kids into a corporate apartment down there when they want to go. So, they won't be around much during the school year to have the preschool at her house. I called around the few places here that offer 2 year old programs, and found out that the Lake Co-Op Preschool had a few openings (Even they were surprised!). It's unfortunate that Enid's birthday falls when it does, because she'll be in the room with kids who are barely 2! Oh well, Enid should enjoy it and I'll get a teeny bit of time to do artsy stuff if nothing else. BUT... I'm a Room Mom... since it's a co-op school, we have to sign up for parent participation. When I found out that being a Room Mom would fulfill the entire year for us, I agreed. Who knows... maybe it will lead into a job while Enid is there.

If anyone ever asks you "so, what is your daughter like?", show them the pic of her as a blur, then the one of her lounging with the kitties ... I think that sums her up pretty well (this post was worth the headaches. the pics are priceless)!
