This Will Not Be Fun (for any of us)

I have sooo much I want to post. I hope I get it all in!

We went to Samantha's Christmas play that I mentioned in an earlier post. I might have to post a clip separately after this, but here's a cute photo. It was called "Rainbow Christmas" or something similar. All of the black and white animals wouldn't let the other animals in on their jive. You know how that is, but like they sang in the end "Christmas is a rainbow". And so are we.

On the 15th, we took Enid to a Christmas storytime sponsored by
DEPC at Braswell Memorial library. The theme was "Christmas With Rocky". People around here know Rocky is the reading rabbit of Rocky Mount. The lady in this photo is Miss Gingersnap. She could be a professional storyteller. She reminds me of someone we saw in a video in one of my college classes.

Here you can see Enid and part of Baeden (to the left of her) participating.

Miss Henny Penny got to play the characters. She sings sickly sweet.

It seems like the cats have been sleeping and sleeping and sleeping...

While dreading mixing cookie dough by hand one night, Gerald told me I needed to open a Christmas gift early. This is what I got!! "Ultra" cool!

I made chocolate dipped candy canes for him to take to work. I also made those yummilicious cocoa white chocolate macadamia nut cookies that everyone loved last year. I tried to make "blossom" cookies, but they didn't turn out right. They are just colored sugar-coated sugar cookies instead. I did however, have pretty good luck making Paula Deen's gingerbread cookies, and they are "scrumptious" (as Enid says).

Here is a brief look at the crafts Enid and I have been creating.
foam decorated paper tree

Christmas sticker art... "They're holding candy canes saying 'Merry Christmas!'"

paper gingerbread house

wrapping paper collage

foamie gingerbread house (AKA pain in the booty)

felt carrot ornament that I stuffed funny

felt donut that Enid says is hers

Enid asked for a felt ghost necklace and she received

For the holiday season, my mom wanted to buy something for my grandma's headstone. Everything she found cost a ton, so we bought fake flowers et cetera on sale at Michaels, and I created this.

Enid and I also
created us as South Park characters. Now THAT was fun. It was quite humorous what Enid picked out for us!

She said this is her Burger King crown.

A few days ago, Enid got her Christmas gift of books in the mail from Aunt Paula and Uncle Mike in Florida. First she read them to her baby doll, Enid. Then I read them to her. Then Daddy read them to her.

During all of that super warm weather, Enid chased shadows. I documented.

This was just a cool photo. We eat here almost every Friday night. It's in Nashville, NC, and although the service has been slipping, I dig it.

This doesn't need much explanation. Most of you know Enid LOVES Ponyville.

She's getting so tall, but she's still so skinny. When we measured her on the 10th, she was right at 39"!! That puts her at 88th percentile for height. She's 31st percentile for weight.

Enid kept asking and asking about this historic ceramic tree that's been around since I was a kid, so we put it in her bedroom.

Granny ordered this magnetic tree set (at my request) from Samantha and Patrick's school fundraiser. All three of them seem to like playing with it.

Enid in PaPa's driving glasses reminds me of The Royal Tenenbaums, or maybe it's another movie I can't think of.
