Weekend Recreation & "Work"

Our friend/my ex-co-worker from VA Beach, Ryan, came to visit this weekend with his friend, Andy. We hadn't seen Ryan since he came to visit us in GA for my birthday in January of 2004, so it was good to see him again.

We went to FunLand briefly to use a coupon we had, and Enid got to play SkeeBall... she was best at handing us the balls to roll. We couldn't do much with her inside (outside are go-carts, mini-golf, etc) other than games to win tickets, because they have so many "rules". She's too little to go into the huge soft playground climber alone, and we're too tall to go in with her... just by a few inches! She's too little to ride the Merry-Go-Round alone, and we both weigh too much to ride with her! CRAZINESS! We won a bunch of tickets though, and used most of the points for a Koosh-type ball, a little plastic flute, and some BlowPops... I gave the extra points to a couple of little boys waiting for their prizes. They were stoked, of course.

I have 3 friends expecting babies now (2 in NC & one in WA), and I finished shopping for the first one due tonight. I also have an old penfriend in MN getting married and have to mail out her gift this week. Man, when it rains, it pours!

Our storm door has been ordered, so it will be great this fall when we can open everything up and feel the breeze! Gerald also changed the locks yesterday, and now we have one key for everything. AND We got rid of the deadbolts that required keys inside the house. Those were annoying.

I made a fresh batch of Hummingbird nectar this afternoon... there has been a BUNCH of them lately. We see a lot of Cardinals in our backyard too, and the BlueJays try to take over and run off the other birds. There are 4 bird feeders out back. The squirrels get all of the wild birdseed that falls to the ground. We also have 3 cats that come by sometimes... one in particular who likes to rest in our shade.

I just found out that Patrick is sick again, and I'm hoping he can make it through the night without going to the emergency room. Maybe he will outgrow all the asthma complications as he gets older. Enid has been VERY lucky since last July when she was hospitalized, but at least we're prepared for those things.
