Halloween Etc

Well, Halloween came and went so quickly... it's almost as bad as Christmas! I had bought a hat with hair sewn inside to wear trick-or-treating with Enid, and I ended up keeping it on all night. I rolled up my jeans so you could see black & orange striped socks. (I'm so tubby right now, I can't comfortably fit into the cool spider dress Gerald's mom made like I usually do!) The kids seemed to like it, but one was scared of me!
"Pablo" and I walked up and down our street a little, only stopping at 5 or 6 houses. I didn't think she wanted to keep walking, and every time she saw our house, she'd head that way. I got her to say "Trick or Treat" a few times, and she kept saying "Thank you Halloween!", which was close enough!
When we got home, Gerald let her eat a mini KitKat bar, and of course she LOVED it! Don't get me wrong, the child wouldn't hurt from some extra weight, but I wish she could get it in other ways!
This year, I sat the witch cauldron on the front porch, and the kids were ENTHRALLED. I was amazed to see how many of them would just stand there and stare at it like they were hypnotized!
Over the weekend, I made a lemon cake with super lemony glaze for Gerald's birthday. It turned out great! Gerald also hung up Enid's new little ceiling fan in her room. It was only about $25 at Wally World, and it matches all her stuff so well. She likes it and keeps talking about it, so that's a plus as well!
Today we made a trip to Target for Halloween clearance and I got some really neat goodies that are kind of Day of the Dead style. We also stopped by Coldstone Creamery, and I got "Pumpkin Pie in the Sky", which is pumpkin pie ice cream, graham cracker crumbles, cinnamon, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. All I can say is YUM! That's a good fall fix!
