The Walk is Over Etc. (this is a long one)

I wanted to share this with everyone. I like the sentiment.

First of all, Jumpstart's Read for the Record site says that this year at least 250,000 people participated. I would think that each year the record will be broken from the previous year. It feels good being part of something, but...

...it feels great knowing we have so many friends and family members willing to help support Walk America! Culpeper Walk America raised $17,609 this year, thanks in part to you! THANKS SO MUCH!!

The drive to Culpeper was fine... I want to head back that way when fall has settled in to snap some more shots toward the mountains.

The weather was great yesterday, but those hills should have been in a disclaimer. The only photo I got of Enid and Gerald is blurry, but I got one before we left the house.

Enid had a poster hanging up at the gazebo along with a few other preemies. It made me cry.

At the park, I was relaxing on a bench, but my feet were definitely tired when we got home.

Our final total was $830 (online & off), and that got us some awards!!

Top Family Team: Team ZigZone

Top Online Fundraiser: Me! (though a good chunk came from one of Gerald's co-workers)

#2 Top Walker : Me!

The walk was at Yowell Meadow Park, and Gerald and I were both impressed that they have a skate park there. Seriously... in Culpeper... a skate park. I took photos, but I won't worry with posting all of them.

Gerald woke up this morning to find this mess in the kitchen. Actually, it wasn't a mess because the bowls were completely empty. I think the cats were trying to tell us something.

On with the quest to capture the kitties...

Apparently, Wasabi isn't the only Super Kitty we have.

Ohmmmmm... I am one with the back of the couch.

In mirrors, I see the reflection of my sibling.

Bathroom smathroom... this is our crib, yo!

White chedda is mo' betta.

Look, sometimes I try to be a pretzel like this.

See, I fit into this box while practicing. (even with the Thomas set on top.)

Inari almost always comes in to help wake Enid after nap. This day, Enid was so knocked out, she had no idea Inari had licked her cheek.

Enid calls Daddy before she goes to bed at night. Here she is multitasking.

Gerald was dying to make a Pumpkin Roll. It turned into a Pumpkin Cake, but it sure was good. As always, we have proof.

As I said in another post, we have kitty visitors quite often. Here's Smokey. He's from 2 doors down, and he's been friendly since we moved here. The yellow kitty isn't very friendly, and sometimes they hiss and chase each other.

Even though the pumpkins dried up and the grass is turning brown, the tomatoes kept ripening for a while. They sure were tasty. Tom & Aimee agreed.

Let's wrap this up with some ham hock and curls.
