Apparently, a gas-cap lock can cost $15 to $20. I'm not a pessimist, but being a realist I'd say it's a good idea for people in some areas.  (sorry you have to wait through the ad)

PS: Enid saw gum stuck on a wooden railing inside Bojangles in Wilson this morning and asked what it was. I told her it was chewing gum, but of course she then asked why it was there and I said, "Because someone was too lazy to walk to the trash can." Before I could say anything else she shook her head. "Lazy people."
