FACS Education – 100 Years in 100 Counties

Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) as a field of work and study is 100 this year. December 3, 2008 is the birthday of Ellen Swallow Richards, founder of FACS. It will be observed as "Family and Consumer Sciences Centennial Day" in North Carolina. FACS students, teachers, administrators, alumni, and other partners in all 100 counties are encouraged to plan projects and activities to commemorate 100 years of empowering individuals, strengthening families, and enabling communities.

I love what I've done related to FACS so far, and can't wait to complete my degree... some day.
