Basic Human Stuff.... not even intellectual garbage about changing the world

Somewhere along the way, I missed that a tragedy like this happened... again.

First of all, it made me wonder why the term "gay" is used so often as an insult, describing something stupid or unfortunate. It seems to arise out of homophobia and used more prevalently among males trying to prove their masculinity, when it really only proves their ignorance. There are a lot of words that have been given power and the more it is used derogatorily, the more power it is given, especially for those that are so impressionable.

I just wanted to say that my hope is that parents learn that they are the first teachers of their children and to know what's going on with their views of the world and the people in it.

Be their biggest influence, talk to them, and ask questions. Explain that we are all different but that we all need to be loved, feel loved, express love, and that it's okay to love whoever you love.
