Just a Quick Rant... or Two

RANT ONE:

It's hilarious and annoying to me that day cares around here put "Certified Teachers" in their ads. They are not certified. Some could be I'm sure, but for it to be relevant to proving their quality as a center, they'd have to be B-K certified, and those people are few and far between.

To be certified, you have to hold a bachelors degree and complete student teaching and pass a certification exam with the state in a subject area or grade level you teach.

To be a child care teacher in NC, you have to hold a North Carolina Early Childhood Credential within a limited amount of time after being hired. That consists of taking two short college classes that are super duper simple and are even offered at some high schools. It is by no means equivilant or similar to being certified.

That word just irks me silly.  Don't even get me started on "accredited".

RANT TWO:

I got my all-in-one to scan but the photo wasn't saved and now it wont' scan again no matter what I do.

Compatibility with a Mac sucks, but it's still the coolest computer ever!
