Chuck, Food, Travel, & Fun!

Enid has gone more than 15 days in panties without any accidents. Woohoo! Her reward was a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's and spending the $3 she's been saving since January. (She ended up getting a diaper for Baby Enid and a pack of Miffy magnets to hang art on the fridge.)

Here she is at arrival all excited to play with Chuck.

I've tried out some new recipes recently, and they were all very good. There was Cheesy Spinach Casserole (not pictured), Breakfast Bake, and I also made Alphabet Soup, which I hadn't done since before Enid was born! We ate it with a huge batch of Cheesy Drop Biscuits, which were absolutely delicioso! If you'd like the recipes, just let me know and I'll post or email them.

For the past couple of weeks, we've been flying kites. Enid got a new My Little Pony kite and I got a teeny tiny fairy. It's amazing how that thing flies! Gerald still has a pretty old Star Wars kite, so we tried that out too. In a couple of months, we're going to the time share, and hopefully we can fly them on the beach again. It's usually a great time and place for it.

I don't even know where this box came from, but Enid pretended it was her recliner.

In a previous post, I wrote about Enid growing a hermit crab. Here's the result.

One day while I was showering, I let Enid watch the Backyardigans. When I came back into the bedroom, she was on the bed like this. It reminded me of Samantha when she was about that age... I have a similar photo of her somewhere.

This past weekend, we headed for the hills again. Every time we go, it just reiterates the fact that you could never pay me enough to live there. I'm all for Little House on the Prairie, but totally against traversing through the fictional mountains the von Trapps traveled to escape the Nazis. Seriously though, generic Dramamine can be your friend too.

Saturday morning, we went to the library. It was pretty nice to be so small. Enid really liked the Asian displays they had up throughout the kids section. I lifted her up to see some of them, and as soon as she saw chopsticks she said, "Just like we eat with sushi!" She also enjoyed the dragon... I think I could have left her there with him.

Later that day, we took a long walk down Grandma and Grandpa's road to visit some of their friends. Enid fell going up hill and got the nastiest goose egg. Now it's just a bruise, but that thing could have poked someone's eye out immediately after it happened. It was nasty. I think I'm the one that's traumatized. The skin didn't break, so that's always good.

Enid and Caitlyn got to help Grandma make waffles Sunday morning. Enid managed to sling batter across the counter, but that seems to be her trademark move.  If you look closely, you might notice the bruise on the right side of her forehead.

Did I mention it rained on the way through Raleigh??... both ways?? Gerald and I used to joke that it rained every time we went somewhere, starting on our honeymoon in Salem, MA. It didn't continue to be true, but this past trip makes me wonder if it's starting again. Fun. Fun.
