Mexico and Food (but not Mexican food)

Gerald recently went down to Juarez for work. While he was there, I asked him how Mexico was and he said "Dirty." He was amazed at how easy it was for people to cross into the US, but their car got searched by Mexican authorities every day as they passed into Mexico from their hotel in Texas. He brought me back a lab coat to use as a smock, and it totally cracks me up.

All of the fresh vegetables are getting me in the kitchen more and more, which sometimes doesn't seem possible. Today I made Freezer Pickles, so we'll have to wait a few weeks before we can try them. The squash and zucchini are finally edible, and we have enjoyed some already.

On a related note... I've made several different mac'n'cheese recipes over the years, but the baked ones are always my favorite. I've made the same recipe numerous times, but this week it was exceptionally tasty. It called for large portion sizes.
