December just keeps barrelling on...

Last weekend, we went to the 12th annual Scandinavian Christmas Fair at the state fairgrounds. It was humble and small, but I bought some great little goodies. I could have spent a fortune, but chose to focus on a lovely "plate" painted in Norwegian tradition (2nd from top left in the photo below). Even with me being the thrifty (AKA cheap sometimes) person that I am, $85 sounded like a great deal after seeing how painstakingly it was painted. Enid was enthralled watching the artist paint, and she didn't want to leave. We went back to their booth twice so she could watch some more. They're based in Williamsburg if anyone is interested. We might visit her studio when we head there later this month for Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. Anyway, Enid also loved the Waldorf dolls there and kept saying she wanted one that was blonde with an "American dress". Not sure why she called it that. Afterwards, she got on stage and danced a little but decided she "didn't really like it that much". I guess since it wasn't Irish dancing, she felt a little out of place!

Later that afternoon is when the snow came.

After an hour, there was covered ground. Here's what the model home across from our side yard looked like a couple of hours after that.

It's been so freaking cold that there were lots of areas that still had snow up until today. The kids at Morning Song have been chipping ice out of sand box toys and throwing ice balls at each other all week! They've spent more time inside though, and Ms Joya let them jump from the futon into a pile of huge pillows. Enid would wear herself out doing it if you'd let her! At home, she's been rediscovering her love for the dollhouse and other "little people" sets. You can see her pirate ship, castle, and two barns in the mix. Boy, that sure is an awesome feast with no one serving!

No, we still haven't decorated the fairy tree this year. School has taken over my life these past couple of weeks, but we'll have time this weekend! Gerald and Enid did, however, decorate a tree up on the 3rd floor. They also built a little LEGO village, and Gerald modified the Hogwarts train so that it would actually run! Awesome stuff!

Yes, Inari allowed Ebi to sleep next to her. I think it was only because she was so knocked out when Ebi jumped onto the chair that she didn't care to react. Later she was right back to snapping at her.
