Fall is coming!
The rains came and went leaving lots of leaves and a little debris. This afternoon, Enid helped me sweep the front porch and the driveway. She raked, hoed, swept, shoveled... she loves her little "tools"!
We've settled on plans for Enid's party. I finally found some napkins and a mylar balloon. Now all that's left is... reserving the pavilion, making and mailing invitations, ordering and decorating cupcakes, buying some other paper/plastic ware, buying the food... who am I kidding?... plenty!
I added a link to the right for her Wish List to make it easier for all of you to find it!
I've been unpacking and organizing my craft stuff, and MAN, I've got A LOT OF STUFF!!! I really, really have to get things out and ready to use for those invitations.
Some of you might know that a friend of mine in GA, Melissa Hamby, (ex-co-worker and Enid's infant teacher) had a house fire. It was electrical and started in her kitchen, but she and her kids (a boy about 2.5 & 2 older girls) weren't home. They have so much fire AND water damage etc that it's not livable, and she's trying to get housing on base now. Her husband was underway when it happened, and I don't know if the Navy is sending him home or not. ANYWAY... We sent them a gift card today, and I feel terrible that there's not more we can do. All of the PreK teachers are taking turns cooking for them, kidsitting, dogsitting... I know they are a great help from our experience with Enid! If you want to donate any basic items, email me and I'll let you know where to send them.
CRIKEY! RIP Steve Irwin.
