Being Girly and other Fun Easter Stuff
I have been trying to post this stuff for days, but I keep having issues with the photos. Every one of these sites works differently with Safari on the iMac, but I really don't want to go back to Internet Explorer or Firefox if I can help it.
I guess I should go back so this is in chronological order (somewhat).
For St. Patrick's Day, Enid made Daddy handprints to hang in his cubicle at work.

She also made a collage with "leprechaun coins", which were round gold sequins I got on extra-special clearance at Michaels.

Here's the green leprechaun on St. Patty's Day herself.

While drawing one day, Enid wrote her name. This is the first time she's written it all on her own without anyone reminding her to put it on her paper. That's definitely the teacher in me... "Don't forget to put your name on the paper. If I find a paper with no name and no one claims it, it's trash." How many times have I said that? I also know that all kids are different (some are WAY different), but I have taught kids that at the end of the PreK year, they still could not spell or semi-legibly write their names. Such a seemingly simple thing doesn't come this naturally to everyone.

This is for Grandma.... Enid never dresses up, so to speak, and here you can see she already had her shoes off!

While shopping for Easter desserts, Granny spotted soda cakes. Man, this one is good. They also had 7-Up and Orange Crush.

When we still lived in VA, Enid helped me wash dishes almost every night. Here she doesn't get to do it as much, because Daddy's home at night now, and she's usually busy with him. I'm glad she enjoys doing things around the house now. I have the feeling that later on when her help is really needed, she won't give it so easily. I want her to learn how to take care of things herself though so she isn't completely lost when she HAS to do it. I've seen people go off to college and have absolutely NO idea how to do a load of laundry.

The Thursday before Easter, Granny went with us for lunch and Easter Bunnying at the mall. Let me just say that Happy Burrito has good food for incredible prices. They are super nice and willing to make it any way you want it. Enid was excited to see the Easter Bunny and waved at him from across the mall, but when we got closer, she wouldn't let go of me. I guess because it's not visibly a person like Santa, she's more timid. She was smiling and laughing and not screaming and crying, but I had to sit with her to get a photo. If you notice, she did hold his hand.

Yesterday, we went to the SGA Easter Egg Hunt at Nash Community College. There were little games and activities, and even the Easter Bunny was there! This time, she gave him a hug. Enid's bucket was sooo full of candy and toys that we left the plastic eggs with SGA for next year and took out the goodies inside. (Gerald's taking a lot of the candy to work.) Of course my camera battery was almost dead, and I didn't realize it. This is the only photo I have to post. I took some with my phone, but of course those are junk. I never use the phone camera, so I didn't even know how at first!

This morning, she woke up to some new goodies. The Easter Bunny left her a chocolate Fairy Bunny, some bug catching/viewing toys, colored chalk, a paper embosser, and the Ponyville Popcorn Movie Theater. Daddy and I gave her a set of 6 eggs filled with Easter Ponyville ponies. She had fun searching around the den for them before breakfast.

Found this in the 88 cents area of toys in the new Nashville Wal-Mart. Happy Easter, Deana!

For some reason, I didn’t realize until this morning that we’ve kind of had an Easter tradition the past few years. We dye and paint eggs and then eat them as egg salad and/or deviled eggs the next day.

Enid decided to paint a napkin with the leftover dye.
Hope you all are having a great spring so far!
