Fire! Fire!

Last night, we had tons of food at Deana's. James had grilled every meat under the sun, and I feasted on some great veggie stuff of course. Later after everyone else left, Deana pulled out the sparklers for the kids. They were pretty excited, but it took Samantha and Enid a few minutes to realize the sparklers wouldn't hurt them if they were careful. Patrick, being a boy, stuck his finger right on the smoldering tip of one after it went out. What do you think happened?
