A New Pizza Dough for Us

While I was writing our grocery lists, Enid asked to make her own pizza this week.  The first recipe we tried was from "Reading Rainbow", and it was no good.  So I scrapped it and started over with a recipe from RecipeZaar.  It was quite tasty, and I think it's hint of sweetness would even make great focaccia or calzone.

Here's the super simple recipe (what pizza dough isn't?!).

QUICK & EASY PIZZA DOUGH
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2/3 cup lukewarm water - plus an additional 2 tbsp
  1. Mix 1 cup of flour with all other ingredients.
  2. Gradually add 2nd cup of flour until it forms a ball.  Use your hands to form and knead the dough.
  3. Let the dough rest 10-15 minutes  in a bowl covered with a dish towel or plastic wrap to keep it warm.
  4. Spread out onto greased pizza pan and top with your favorite toppings.
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for approximately 15 minutes.  Enjoy!

More baking-related posting to come soon.

PS:  Anyone watching this season of "the Next Food Network Star"??
