We survived our challenge from King Pablo.
Granny and I took Enid to see the Backyardigans Live: Tale of the Mighty Knights at the Crown Theater in Fayetteville yesterday. We got the shakedown on the way in, so I had to take my camera back to the car. I've never seen anyone enforce the no-camera rule so strictly. It makes me wonder what happened to cause their vigilance. As we were walking along the breezeway to the bag-check, I was wondering on which bodily region it could be hidden. All I wanted was a photo of Enid in the theater seat or maybe in front of a poster, but you couldn't even get into the lobby with a camera. Here's a promo shot.

It was an awesome display of American consumerism, that's for sure. It's amazing what parents will buy. There were little fairy wand flashlights for $12, plastic swirly straws for $8, and the Ty plush characters were $12 each. Seriously folks... You can buy those plush in stores for less than $7. Some of the products were "Live" exclusives, and I let Enid pick out a tee shirt. That's as far as I go. She's had more fun with the free paper shield they handed out for audience participation than any toy I could have bought. As for food, it wasn't terribly priced. I think it was more reasonable than movie theater concessions. We had Mini Babybel cheese, wheat Ritz, and water in the car on the way there.
The show was really good though. The very nature of the Mighty Knights episode made it perfect for a stage musical. Afterwards, I thought I had enjoyed it more than Enid. She was so calm and quiet through most of it. She apparently loved it, and it was well worth the little drive and ticket price.
Click here for Enid's video critique! It's too long to upload here, so if you have a decent connection, check it out!
She's still asking about My Little Pony Live, but I doubt that will happen.
