ChristmasTown... 2011 is here
After all the snow came through the region, ChristmasTown at Busch Gardens was closed a few days. They opened back up just in time for our planned trip. I can't even begin to tell you how awesome and strange it was to be there in snow! We stayed out 4.5 hours, and by the time we finished dinner we could see our breath really clearly. It was brrrr cold, but considering tickets were only $11 for each of us, it was well worth it. (see slideshow for photos)
There were local artisans selling their wares, and Enid got to make an ornament out of recycled aluminum. She hammered it out and everything! Some of the platters and dishes they had made were awesome.

I was in awe of the icicles. These are REAL!!!

The pièce de résistance, although probably not intended to be so, was this tree. It was completely covered in lights that were wound around every twig and limb and all the way down the trunk. Insane! People were just standing and staring at it, seriously. It was a beacon in the night.

The next morning we met up with Nikko and her kids to exchange gifts and have lunch. We hadn't seen them in a while of course. She's really busy with school and her photography job etc, so being 200 miles apart just makes it worse. It was a nice little visit though. Hopefully when summer rolls around, we'll be able to spend more time together.
Can you believe 2011 is here already?!?!?!? What is up with that? Hope everyone is healthy and doing well. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
