Unintentionally Unschooling Already

I realized that we've never once sat down with Enid to do worksheets, flash cards, text books, reading guides... any of that stuff... yet she has learned so much on her own with our support and scaffolding. I have no intentions of the oxymoron "intentional unschooling", but it's happening every day for her.

PS: The other day Enid was asking lots of questions about what's going on this month, so I was pointing to the kitchen calendar and telling her what was coming up. When I told her it was Inauguration Day Tuesday, she wanted to know what it was all about. After first telling her we'd have a new president after that day, I asked her if she knew who it would be. She hesitated for a minute then said, "Uhm, Barack Obama?"
