I knew we couldn't be the only ones.

We've run into a few more people who got the heck out of Dodge and hate being here now. It seems like (for most people) when you've lived where there's true multicultural experiences and a so-called melting pot (in some places more of a stew) plus a lack of ignorance and close-mindedness, it's extremely difficult to stay sane in a place where you get axed questions about whether or not the "jewry" is real. What I always loved about this place as a kid is almost nonexistent nowadays anyway (the whole farming community thing).  I can see myself making a countdown very soon.
